One of the Middle East's leading real estate developers, Emaar Properties, has announced a major investment programme worth over $1 billion to enhance Dubai's status as a global hub for tourism, culture and innovation.
The investment will cover both cultural facilities and key elements of the city's infrastructure.
Priority areas include the support and development of world-renowned attractions such as Dubai Fountain (the world's largest dancing fountain) and the organisation of the famous New Year's Eve pyrotechnic show at the base and facade of the Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest building. These events attract millions of visitors to the emirate each year and enhance its international image.
Mohammed Alabbar, founder and chairman of Emaar, emphasised that the company's strategy is based not only on construction, but also on creating unique, emotionally rich spaces.
We don't just build - we create experiences that bring people together. Our investment is a reflection of our belief in Dubai's sustainable future and its limitless possibilities," Alabbarsaid.
As part of its cultural agenda, Emaar is a major supporter of the Dubai Opera House, which plays a key role in shaping the emirate's contemporary cultural scene. The company also contributes more than $50 million annually to maintain and upgrade iconic venues, including the installation of innovative lighting and projection technology at the Burj Khalifa. This transforms the building into a giant screen, broadcasting multimedia shows that can be viewed not only from the ground, but also live around the world.
In addition to physical investments, the developer is actively involved in social programmes through the Emaar Foundation. The Foundation funds social housing projects, supports local communities and organises national sports, education and cultural initiatives.
In this way, the company is not only shaping the architectural landscape of Dubai, but is also making a significant contribution to the social and cultural development of the city, making it a sustainable and inspiring metropolis of the future.
