Dubai authorities have approved a new AED 5.4bn housing project that will provide Emirati citizens with more than 3000 new homes in different areas of the city. The initiative aims to improve housing conditions and realise the Dubai 2040 strategy to create sustainable residential communities.
The new scheme involves the construction of:
- 1,181 homes in the Latifa neighbourhood (for housing loan recipients)
- 606 homes in Al Yalayis 5.
- 432 houses in Wadi Al Amardi
- 398 houses in Al Awir 1
- 200 houses in Makan neighbourhood in Hatta.
- 120 houses in Oud Al Muteena
- 67 houses in peri-urban areas (for housing grant recipients)
The project is being implemented as part of the Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum Family Programme, initiated by Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum.
The programme aims to strengthen family values, improve the quality of life and create a comfortable environment for citizens. Speaking at the launch, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, said that caring for citizens is the foundation of all government initiatives. He stressed that affordable housing contributes to the stability of families, stimulates economic development and strengthens society.
The project is expected to be another important step in Dubai's long-term development strategy to raise living standards and improve the city's infrastructure. The implementation of the initiative will provide a comfortable environment for thousands of families and contribute significantly to the development of the emirate by 2040.
