By 2028, Zabeel Park in Dubai will be home to the unique Therme Dubai complex - the world's tallest 100-metre spa.
The AED 2 billion (approximately $545 million) project is being implemented with the support of the Crown Prince of Dubai, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, as part of the national 'Quality of Life 2033' strategy.
Therme Dubai will cover an area of 500,000 ft2 and will be able to accommodate up to 1.7 million visitors per year. The complex will include:
- Aqua zone with 15 water slides;
- Thermal pools, saunas and steam rooms;
- An indoor botanical garden with over 200 species of plants;
- Three 18-metre waterfalls;
- unique art installations and cultural exhibitions.
It is worth noting that the project has been developed in partnership with the Therme Group, an international company renowned for its innovative wellness centres around the world. During the presentation, Sheikh Hamdan stressed that Therme Dubai will not only strengthen Dubai's position as a centre for wellness tourism, but will also contribute to the ecological development of the city, introducing green technologies and increasing biodiversity.
Therme Dubai is expected to become a new landmark for Dubai, combining wellness trends, sustainable development and architectural innovation. This large-scale project will not only expand the city's tourism opportunities, but also underline its status as one of the world's leading eco-tourism centres.
