UAE Introduces Unique Consular Package for “Golden Visa” Holders

The authorities of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have unveiled the world’s first comprehensive consular package for holders of “Golden Visas” living abroad. The new program aims to enhance security and comfort for UAE residents and includes repatriation services, a 24/7 hotline, and the ability to issue a return document in just 30 minutes.

The official announcement took place at the GITEX Global technology exhibition in Dubai, attended by Major General Suhail Saeed Al-Haili, Director General of ICP; Omar Obaid Al-Hasan Al-Shamsi, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs; and other government officials and international delegates.

Year of the Community: Serving People as a Core Objective

The launch of this service aligns with the vision of UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who declared 2025 the “Year of the Community” under the motto “Hand in Hand.” The project reflects the leadership’s goal to strengthen societal unity and create an ecosystem in which government agencies work in sync to provide residents and citizens with state-of-the-art and convenient services.

Through this program, the UAE reinforces its international reputation as a global hub for talent, investors, and innovators who contribute to the country’s sustainable future.

Support and Protection for “Golden Visa” Residents

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Omar Obaid Al-Hasan Al-Shamsi stated that the consular package was designed to enhance the UAE’s competitiveness in the global talent market. He explained that the partnership between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) and the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports (ICP) establishes an integrated support system for residents, providing assistance both within the country and abroad.

Major General Suhail Saeed Al-Haili emphasized that the project represents an important step toward institutional integration, with government agencies now jointly offering intelligent solutions tailored to the needs of Golden Visa holders. This ensures security and comfort while reflecting the UAE’s values of leadership, humanity, and generosity.

Documents in 30 Minutes Without Visiting the Embassy

MoFA specialist Shama Al-Daheri explained that the new service provides continuous support to Golden Visa holders during their stay abroad. One key innovation is the ability to obtain a return document in case of a lost or damaged passport.

The procedure takes only 30 minutes and is conducted fully online via the ministry’s website or mobile app, eliminating the need for an embassy visit. The return document enables a quick return to the UAE.

Additionally, the MoFA Call Center (0097124931133) operates 24/7 exclusively for Golden Visa holders, assisting with emergencies, including evacuation or repatriation.

Repatriation and Emergency Assistance

An important feature of the package is the repatriation of bodies in the event of death abroad. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs handles all administrative and logistical procedures, including permits, transportation, and coordination with relatives, to ease emotional and financial burdens.

The package also provides rapid response in conflict zones or natural disasters, ensuring the evacuation of citizens and residents in emergency situations.

Officials confirmed that the new service package will soon be available to Golden Visa holders, with details on technical implementation and participation criteria to be published on official UAE government resources.

The UAE government’s initiative marks a new era in resident and foreign investor services. Through close inter-ministerial cooperation and a commitment to technological excellence, the country strengthens its position as one of the safest and most comfortable places for living, business, and investment.
